BlueSky Health Uses CollaborateMD to Save Time and Get Paid Faster

Quick, efficient, patient-focused service is the hallmark of BlueSky Health. The practice is unique as it is a nurse practitioner-run, two-location family medicine practice with threenurse practitioners, two front-staff members, office manager, and a collaborating physician who together serve 2,500 patients in the Howell, Michigan, area.

Six years ago, the practice was rapidly growing and needed an efficient way to track payments and bill patients. Renea Clark joined the practice at that time as office manager. “We started to research implementing a medical billing solution. CollaborateMD had great reviews and we saw it as the perfect fit for our needs. Six years later and it is still ideal for us,” she says.

Implementation took about three weeks as codes and charges specific to the practice needed to be added. In addition to Renea, front office staff also use the solution to input payments. “CollaborateMD is very easy to navigate. Even people who aren’t billers can pick up the system easily. That was important for our office.”

On Renea’s end, after the provider sees a patient, she inputs the CPT/ICD-10 coding into their Practice Fusion EHR. By hitting “send to biller,” it triggers a bill and that is sent to Collaborate MD.

CollaborateMD then sends that to the eProvider Services clearinghouse every evening. Both CollaborateMD and eProvider Services are part of the EverCommerce service commerce platform.
